So last weekend I went to CTN which was really fun and inspiring.  On the plane trip back to SFO my friend who I traveled with was staring out the window at the lights on the earth and I wanted to take a picture of her and the view.  She has the clearest blue eyes, and the lights reflected in them so beautifully and the skyline was incredible.  But electronics weren't supposed to be on so I just tried to capture it in my mind so I could draw it later.  So here's my wonderful Travel Sister, Emily.

Alice In Wonderland

For my class the assignment we had to redesign a hero and a villain from the same story, and put them into a different genre or time period.  I chose to do Alice and the Queen on Hearts in the 1920sThe Queen was really fun to draw because of her shapes and attitude!

Quacky

For Character design I had to make 4 monsters representing emotions.  So this is one of them, it's a happy bird named Quacky because she's wacky.  Yeah!  Quacky has all of the gold so Quacky is happy.

Character Design

This is a short project that I did for my Character Design class.  We were to take an already existing monster and recreate its appearance. I chose the Leviathan, and added a submarine to show a sense of scale.  Even though it would be pretty scary to see this thing I didn't want to make it completely ugly.

Lately I've been really into drawing a combo of curly lines and bubbles, this is one of them.  They're really fun to draw and some of them have turned out nicer than others. But I like this one!

I've been pretty busy with my summer course (it's 5 credits), it's not hard, but there is a lot of work that we have to do, and there is a test every weekBut it's really fun!

Here's a girl I drew shrugging her shoulders, but I haven't figured out why.  Maybe she's shrugging her shoulders because she doesn't know why I dew her shrugging her shoulders...

So I've been doing  a lot of 2D work lately, and decided a week or so ago to dedicate a sketchbook to only blind contour drawings!  I think it would be funny to do a bunch of blind contour drawing in a public space where people might pass by and look at my discombobulated but deliberate lines, and laugh (to themselves or aloud) or something about how terrible I am at drawing.

A week ago I bought this apple, and I wanted to paint it, but I didn't actually get to painting it until yesterday.  After I painted the apple I ate it, but it was not very good, it was powdery and not crispy, I think it was overly ripe so I probably should have painted it when I got it. . .  I haven't painted in water colors in a while, but I think it looks alright.

MEEKO!! Meeko is my favorite Disney character, he's so cute!  So I sketched him.  Not the best sketches in the world but, they were kind of quick :) .

Yes, it's summer break!  I have some time to do stuff for fun and for myself!  So, I have decided I should take advantage of this spans of time and do something important, something that will greatly further me in my art career.  That's right, I'm going to make zillions of boondoggles/lanyards.  I've made over 20 so far, and should probably make a lot more since I'm planning to sell these at my college's Winter Craft Fair (which is technically in the fall haha).  If anyone is viewing these pictures, could you tell me which one(s) you like the best?

But seriously, this time will be great, I'm going to try to do some cool art things this summer :)

Here are the boondoggles I have made so far...

So much Animation homework to do!  It's all of the details that are time consuming, and the minor tweaks that take the longest.  But it's fun.

On a completely different note besides the fact that I'm using the same pencil for animation as I did for the following drawing....
Here's a drawing of Luna Lovegood that I made for one of my best friends.  I didn't have a scanner, so sadly the quality isn't that great. And there's a single hair from my cat in the picture that I didn't see until just now, can you spot it?
